At NjordIC, we combine decades of hands-on experience with a clear mission: to deliver strategic advice and operational support in unexploded ordnance (UXO) investigations — with a distinct focus on maritime environments. As an independent consultancy founded by three seasoned professionals with over 80 years of combined expertise, we stand for technical excellence, reliability, and a solution-driven approach.

From our headquarters in the Netherlands and through our international offices in Houston (NjordIC USA LLC) and Oldenburg (NjordIC GmbH), we serve clients around the world.

Our capabilities extend beyond UXO. NjordIC brings together expertise in dredging technology, hydrology, (geo)morphology, coastal and port engineering, and explosive ordnance disposal. This broad perspective allows us to assess projects holistically and identify UXO-related risks with precision.

A Team of Proven Experts
NjordIC was founded on December 15, 2017, by John Bakker, Erwin van den Berg, and Erik Wildeman. Since then, our team has grown steadily. In 2019, Paul Shaw joined the company as partner, followed by Joost Kock in 2025. Together, we bring a strong combination of strategic insight and operational experience to every project — both nationally and internationally.

NjordIC is ISO 9001 certified, holds the Dutch CS-OOO A-scope certification (since 2025), and obtained the German §7 certificate in the same year.
