UXO Consultancy CO₂-storage

NjordIC successfully completed UXO consultancy services for a geotechnical campaign in supporting a major CO₂ storage project in European waters. This high-impact project was commissioned by a leading subsea and geotechnical contractor, further solidifying NjordIC’s reputation as a trusted partner in complex offshore operations.

Our involvement began with an in-depth extension of an existing UXO desktop study to further assess potential explosive risks in the designated investigation zones. Leveraging our comprehensive database and analysis techniques, we processed critical data and provided tailored recommendations to mitigate risks. Following the completion of the desktop study, our team reviewed site-specific geophysical and geotechnical data, ensuring accurate interpretation and risk assessment.

As a result, NjordIC issued UXO ALARP certificates for the identified locations, enabling safe and efficient geotechnical investigations to proceed. Our meticulous approach to data evaluation and compliance with international safety standards was instrumental in delivering a successful outcome.
